The Arkansas Telecommunications Association (ATA) was founded in 1922 with the following goals:

"The objects and purposes of the Association shall be to promote cooperation in all matters of interest to the telecommunications business and/or any other business devoted to or dealing with the transmission or communication of sounds, signals or data in any form in the State of Arkansas; to aid the members in securing fair and just rules and regulation of the said businesses, to collect, systematize, and classify information and data concerning the said businesses and make it available to the members for their use; to promote and systematize uniformity in accounting, operation, maintenance, and construction; and to hold meetings at stated periods where the members of the Association may meet, interchange views, and discuss business and the most advantageous methods of management, advertisement, and other problems applicable to their particular businesses."
